Our Bronze dates for 2016 are as follows:
Training weekend : 16th- 17th April
Practice Expedition : 23rd - 24th April
Qualifying Expedition : 28th- 29th May
Our open expeditions are accessible by car or public transport, we can arrange pick up and drop off at Burton upon Trent train station if required. The area has a good mix of woodland and countryside, and the variety of wildlife helps to make these expeditions feel really special in an area where a large- scale environmental project has seen the planting of over 8 million new trees in the last 20 years.
For our Bronze open expedition package we charge £250 per person, which includes all group kit (safety equipment, tents, stoves) and campsite fees. Participants will need to provide their own food for the duration of each weekend, however during the training weekend we will discuss menus and help the team to plan so that they can each bring some team food and cook together for the expeditions.
We run our open Bronze expeditions based on 3 weekends to make it easier to fit in around school timetables or work patterns. The training weekend gives participants opportunity to bond with their team as well as learn the skills they will require for the expedition and therefore we ask that all our open participants complete all 3 weekends. To book on please get in touch via our 'contact us' page or give us a call. We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking which is fully refundable should the expedition not reach the required minimum numbers by 1 month prior to the start date.
Participants need to be registered with the award scheme prior to taking part in the expeditions, and we will need your eDofE number in order to upload the assessor's report to say that you have completed the expedition.
