Looking for different dates? If you have a team of 5 or more, we may be able to put on a set of dates for any of our modes of transport just for you- please contact Claire@RichAdventure.co.uk
Participants must provide their own food for the duration of each expedition and their own personal kit, however during the training and planning days we will discuss menus and help the team to plan so that for the qualifier they can each bring some team food and cook together. Campsite fees, tent hire, stoves and all group safety equipment are included in what we charge.
The training dates give participants opportunity to bond with their team as well as learn the skills they will require for the expedition and therefore we ask that all our open participants complete all 10 days. To book on please get in touch via our 'contact us' page or give us a call. We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking which is fully refundable should the expedition not reach the required minimum numbers by 1 month prior to the start date.
Participants need to be registered with the award scheme prior to taking part in the expeditions, and we will need your eDofE number in order to upload the assessor's report to say that you have completed the expedition.
Expeditions are unaccompanied, and teams must be self- sufficient, as per the 20 conditions of assessment. We provide training as part of the program to ensure that teams are able to manage the risks they are likely to encounter. Our supervisors and assessors will meet and/or see each team whilst journeying and camp at the same site as them for Silver, and teams will have multiple methods of contact should there be any issues. The number of times we will see each team varies depending on their progress and environmental conditions, with a closer level of supervision where the level of risk is higher.
We are able to offer variations to the 20 conditions (or to what is considered a ‘normal’ expedition) if required, to accommodate participants who would otherwise be unable to complete their expeditions. This may be due to paticipants’ medical needs, longstanding injuries or learning difficulties. If you are unable to take on the physical demands, we may be able to offer shorter distances with more aim work, or carrying reduced rucksacks. We can also offer closer supervision if required for participants who are more likely to need emergency medical intervention. Please contact Claire@RichAdventure.co.uk to discuss your individual needs and how we can accommodate you.
