Service Description

Gold training and practice for canoe expeditions 7-11 April 2025 This 5 day course includes all the required training to complete your Gold DofE expedition by canoe, and also includes the 2 day 2 night practice expedition. You will cover the DofE training framework, including campcraft and canoeing skills, before completing your practice expedition. This opportunity will suit participants joining us either with friends they want to be in a team with, or as individuals. Wherever possible we will accommodate requests for participants to be in teams with any specified friends, subject to appropriate spaces available in teams for all participants. Participants will cook for themselves and camp for the 4 nights. What's included: Campsite fees Canoe equipment (boats, buoyancy aids, helmets, paddles, barrels and dry bags) Group equipment (tent, stove. safety kit) A full program of training from DofE leaders and canoe coaches with experience and qualifications suited to the environment What's not included: Food for the duration of the course Personal expedition kit (sleeping bag, waterproofs etc- kit list available) This training course is ideal for participants wishing to complete their qualifying expedition with us, as emergency procedures are company specific and the route planning session will be focused on planning qualifying expeditions in the local area. If you are wishing to complete the qualifying expedition with another organisation, we can provide a record of training to be passed on. Please note that other providers may have additional training or company specific training that they require participants to undertake.
